aikahi playground

yesterday rachel, liv and i went to what is probably the nicest, funnest playground on the island. rachel had been before and was really excited to go back. i think the playground is a few years old but is still in really nice condition. the whole thing has fake grass! not like astro turf, its like real grass, but plastic i guess? its all really bright green and soft and awesome. the playground is like ocean/lizard theme (lizards are SO gross) and there are fish and turtles everywhere. one of the slides is like a shark and part of the main climbing structure is like a volcano with 2 red slides coming out of it. theres a boat with a movable bottom, so you can sway back and forth, there is a trampoline type area, monkey bars, and a path that goes around the entire area for kids to ride bikes on. i didnt take pictures of everything (obviously) but the details are really neat. theres even like a telephone system, you can talk into one of the posts and way on the other end of the park is the receiving end. we will definitely be going back!

that park looks amazing! I'd love to take Nolan to something like that. we do have one of those playgrounds with the astro type ground {it's pink, right? looks a bit like sand?} and it's very nice.
Too bad its winter here and all parks are closed! what I wouldn't give for a park trip!
